Why This Site Exists
Minnesota makes many jail, arrest, corrections, and court records available under public-data rules, but the records are not held in one place. A person booked after a local arrest may appear on a county roster. A person committed after sentencing may appear in the Minnesota Department of Corrections public viewer. Federal and immigration custody use separate systems. This site is built to make those differences easier to understand without presenting any private database as an official record source.
What This Site Covers
The focus is Minnesota inmate population and custody lookup material at statewide scale, with county-level pages used where local details matter.
- Plain-language help for Minnesota inmate records, jail rosters and mugshots, and court records after an arrest.
- A County Directory for reaching each Minnesota county's inmate-population resource.
- A Facility Directory covering county jails, state prisons, federal facilities, regional custody settings, and other detention facilities identified in the research.
- Statewide context for custody categories, public-record limits, booking information, and the difference between jail, prison, court, federal, and immigration records.
What We Cannot Do
Minnesota Inmate Population is privately operated. It is not the Minnesota Department of Corrections, a sheriff's office, a jail, a court, a police department, a prosecutor, a public defender, or any other government agency. It also is not a law firm, a bail bond service, or a corrections vendor.
- We cannot release, hold, move, or transfer anyone in custody.
- We cannot post bond, accept payments, schedule visits, send money, or deliver messages.
- We cannot change, seal, certify, delete, or retrieve official government records.
- We cannot provide legal advice or make decisions about guilt, custody, release, or sentence credit.
Only the government office that created or maintains a record can provide an official record, custody decision, certified copy, or legal determination.
Search Partners
Some pages may include search tools operated by third-party providers. Those providers set their own search coverage, pricing, signup terms, and result rules. If a visitor uses a partner tool and completes a paid signup or transaction, this site may receive a referral fee. That revenue helps support free access to the Minnesota reference pages, but it does not give this site control over partner pricing, partner results, or any government record system.
